Let me help you find what need. When I make jell-o, about a dozen Double packs at time all lime but, boil the water separately for each one.

The base does get hot and needs to be about 6 inches from other surfaces when in use but, it cools fairly quickly. It doesn't heat up the room which is great when compared to a gas stoves top burners. With 1500 watts of power, this dual unit has independent adjustable temperature controls for cooking and heating.

Will use it in our new kitchen if needed or give to my son take college the future.

I had a problem with my gas stove and decided to try this alternative buying new since dont cook much anymore.

I keep the cycle of measure, pour, boil, etc going and water boils so quickly that dont have to wait for it. It heats up very quickly and is easy to clean. It was a lot cheaper than stove, too.
